Ty is native to San Diego (2nd generation)… Mari is a Canadian-born Scottish lass.
We met in 1999 (at the world-famous Money & You seminar) when Mari came to California from Scotland for a vacation… and, basically, never left!

We like to do things a tad differently.
We’re followers of the Voluntary Simplicity and Quaker philosophies… along with the likes of Robert Kiyosaki and Loral Langemeier. Yes, they’re different kinds of worlds, we agree.
But, we blend our eclectic mix of preferences and motivational profiles to create a hybrid lifestyle that works for us.
We were also greatly inspired by Timothy Ferriss’ book The Four Hour Workweek – we got exposed to his ideas just as our 2600 square feet beach home was in escrow.
Instead of renting a condo in the ‘burbs for a while as we’d planned (seemed too “normal” to us!), we decided to also sell off ALL our furniture (in less than 48 hours, thanks to Craigslist!), buy a big motorhome and drive off into the wild blue yonder!
Mari will be writing detailed posts as we travel around the US and Canada. We’ll share the good stuff along with all the crap – no holds barred! 
It’ll be Ty and Mari unplugged.
We’ll share stories, photos, and video vignettes. We’ll introduce you to people and places you might never have known otherwise.
And, we’ll dish the dirt on what it’s like to live with your significant other fulltime in a relatively small “box.”
We’ll also provide details on the exact steps we took to completely downsize and create an entirely mobile lifestyle. It’s a lot easier than you think!
